Formed in 2017, The Light Fantastic is a Portland, Oregon based instrumental quartet offering a hip-shaking, orchestrated and eclectic mix of 50-70’s jazz-funk inspired psychedelic rockin’ and groovin' tunes, from deep-cut arrangements to smokin' originals. 

Inspiration and influence can be seen from the likes of Jimmy Smith, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, The Crusaders, Roy Ayers, The Meters, Hot Tuna, Al Green, George Benson, Funkadelic, Stevie Wonder, The Brothers Johnson, Freddie Hubbard, Frank Zappa, and so many more!!

Comprised of lifelong multi-instrumentalists, its members have deep passion for music, as well as deep roots in Portland’s music legacy from the historic Day Music Company to the transformative Peak Experience Productions.
